Description
SIEMENS®
Fiber Optic Repeaters (FOR) system is designed to solve problems of weak
mobile signal in the place that is far away from the Base Station (BTS) and
has fiber optic cable network underground. The Fiber Optic Repeater (FOR)
system consists of two parts: Donor Unit and Remote Unit. The Donor Unit
captures the BTS signal via direct coupler closed to BTS, the converts it
into optic signal and transmits the amplified signal to the Remote Unit via
fiber optic cable. The Remote Unit will reconvert the optic signal into RF
signal and provide signal to the areas where network coverage is inadequate.
And the mobile signal is also amplified and retransmitted to the BTS via the
opposite direction.
As per the method of receiving BTS signal by the Donor Unit, two types of
FOR are available:
- Cable-Access FOR: the receive BTS signal via a direct coupler closed to the BTS (recommended);
- Wireless-Access FOR: to receive BTS signal via a Donor Antenna (applicable when no fiber optic cable connecting to the BTS); can be sorted into 2 sub-categories: Band-Selective and Channel-Selective.

- Details repeater parameters and status can be monitoring by built-in web interface, such as RSSI, temperature, output power level, gain, ATT, return loss, VSWR etc.
- Support upgrading firmware remotely by GPRS.
- High gain linear power amplifier technique with reliable performance
Application
To expand signal coverage of fill signal blind area where signal is weak or
unavailable.
- Outdoor: Airports, Tourism Regions, Golf Courses, Tunnels, Factories, Mining Districts, Villages, etc..
- Indoor: Hotels, Exhibition Centers, Basements, Shopping Malls, Offices, Packing Lots, etc.
The FOR is mainly applicable to such case:
- Underground fiber optic cable network already exists beneath the area to be covered;
- There is huge obstructive terrain between the BTS and the area to be covered;
- The distance between the BTS and the area to be covered is 20KM around

And can meet the requirement of antenna isolation to avoid self-oscillation.

in the place that is far away from the 2G&3G Base Stations (BTS) and has
fiber optic cable network available.

Dual Band Fiber Optic Repeater System consists of 2 parts as follows:

Fiber DAS Donor HUB Unit: to captures the respective 2G&3G BTS
signal via direct coupler closed to respective 2G&3G BTS, then converts
these signals into optic signal and transmits the both amplified DCS&UMTS
signal simultaneity to the Remote Unit via a single fiber optic cable.
- Remote Unit: will reconvert the optic signals into respective 2G&3G RF signal and transmits the amplified signal to the areas where network coverage is inadequate.

- In-built Fiber Optic Transceiver Module complies with 800 - 2200MHz ultra-wideband spectrum usage to simultaneity realizes long distance transmission for 2G&3G simultaneity by a single fiber cable.
- Fiber DAS Donor Unit adopts 19” (2U Height) standard casing enclosure which is very easy to be installed into 19” cabinet in BTS room.
- Fiber DAS Remote Unit and all Remote Boosters all adopt casing enclosure with IP55 protection and compact design, cool system without fan.
- In-built individual AGC & ALC function for 2G&3G be able to ensure easy setting and no cause interference to Donor BTS.

- 2 RS232 or RJ45 ports provide links to laptop for local setting and monitoring by built-in web interface.
- Built-in wireless modem (Option) for remote monitoring by SMS, GPRS or TCP/IP.
- In-built FSK function to ensure control/monitor Remote Unit from Donor Unit.
